Have you ever considered how easily your body adapts to the surrounding, always supporting you? Be it a fast-paced city or a laid-back town the body works at all times to make sure that you live your life to the fullest and experience all that life has to offer. But what about you? Have you paid enough attention to your body? Do you nurture it well, do you listen to it and make choices in line with it, do you give it proper rest – or do you tend to ignore and neglect its needs and consider it merely an ornament? We often forget that to establish a high level of wellbeing, Self-Care is the ‘Mantra’. A healthy body and mind is very important to progress in all that you do. And for that you must invest in your body by not only giving it the nutrition it needs but also adopting a healthy lifestyle to manage the body and create a harmony between body and mind.

Nourishing your body with the proper ratio of nutrients is essential to evoke this state of well-being. And vitamins play a major part here, ensuring the healthy functioning of the body and developing its self-healing capacity. A daily dose of vitamins will ensure that there is no nutritional deficiency in your body. While each vitamin plays a unique role, in a cluster they are important for the conversion of glucose to energy, and supporting the nervous system, skin, liver, muscles, hair and eyes. The best food sources of the B-complex vitamins are whole grains, fortified cereals, meat, fish, green leafy vegetables, milk products, eggs, nuts, beans and legumes. Vegetables and fruits that are highest in B vitamins include peas, broccoli, brussels sprouts, spinach, potatoes, corn, tomatoes, peaches, cauliflower, bananas and beets. Other than these functions, you should know that vitamins also play a major role in the upkeep of a good cardiovascular health. The B vitamins are necessary for a healthy heart. You could include B vitamin rich food such as mushrooms, legumes, sunflower seeds, green beans. Consult your medical practitioner to understand the dynamics of vitamins in keeping heart-disease away. A large part of the very vitamin B family helps in boosting energy levels. Other than this, exercise and a healthy diet will ensure your general fitness and a sound mental health. The more we age, the more our nutritional needs are and with time it gets harder to absorb nutrients. Also, any in-take of nutrition depletes the nutrients from our body. Vitamins are needed for our overall wellness; their deficiency could take a toll on our health. Consult your medical care provider on how best to include them in your diet or through supplements. Get your multi-vitamin routine ready, stay healthy.
